My colleague who just returned from Moscow bought me a new example of Belomo's production: Peleng fisheye lens. My purchase looked like a low-price carton box with a low-price quasi-leather case inside. Thats how the very lens is packaged. I also found an adapter for Nikon and 3 filters: yellow, red, UV. Nice kitting. First of all, I liked the lenscap as it fits better and doesn't seem to slip away as it did caps of older lenses because of the wide opened inner ring. In my lens there is some cell foam so that I will never loose the cap. The quality of construction seemed to me rather reliable as it is fully metal. |

General Impressions: This is an amusing lens. I am not really sorry that i bought about buying it, its worth money i paid. And the very fact that it has such drawbacks as flare, lateral colour error and internal reflection testifies that this lens is for amateurs who would like to have fun taking circular pictures. For example, pictures of sky and strangely distorted landscapes. Semi-fisheye adapter costs practically the same but Peleng lens is better choice. At least because it is a full-fledged lens. |

How it works and a little bit of useful tips.
-In my opinion, this lens captures the sharpest photos at f5.6-f16. Please, remember that it is a completely manual lens so you should lock it when you choose aperture. I defined diaphragm setting f8-11as the most appropriate to this lens. -Focus ring. I am a little experienced in lenses like my own so now i prefer M-mode (macro) on the focus ring and no more worries. This simple tip helps me to capture objects close and far and my pictures will be sharp. |

To tell you the truth, there was no real necessity in fisheye lens as far as photography is my hobby. But I found it interesting to fill up my lens collection with such a lens. All in all, fisheye lenses like this may be useful in architecture or landscape photography. Moreover, they are good at shoting of knives, kukris etc. In other words, I thought that I won't have any difficulties with fisheye lens. So, I decided to purchase this lens and to try it. However, buying became the first problem. The cheapest models – Japanese fisheye lenses made by Sigma – costed about 800$, and all others were about 4000-5000$ |
